The Graveroot Wargrove, Part 2

The children of the Everqueen take root in even the most barren soil; fallow fields sown with bones and watered with tears.

The wyldwoods of the Harrowmark are so cluttered with the remains of the unnumbered dead that the Sylvaneth that dwell within them have become amalgamations of wood, bones, burial goods and grave-shrouds. The often have skulls and bones tangled into their branches and limbs.

The 2nd and 3rd model in the Graveroot Wargrove, Sylvaneth from the Harrowmark, in the Realm of Death. Still WIP - greenstuff shrouds & crackle texture added.

Mutant Mechanicus - part 8

An update on the Sumpcrawler.

It's still very WIP - I'm planning on adding more purity seals and scrolls with greenstuff next. It will get a similar paint-job to my Kastelan Robots; lots of filth and rust.

Mutant Mechanicus - part 7

The Sumpwalker

Still very WIP but I plan to add lots of "scrap metal" armour plates and purity seals. Possibly a single "robot eye" in the middle of the hull, a skull or two, some baggage, vents or exhausts, and a lot of weathering! And I was thinking of adding the air breaks from the Ork Bomma to the back as random "flappy bits".

I want it to feel like it has been roughly patched up over the centuries with random metal plates.

The design is very much inspired by Ian McQue's walker sketches and Ashley Wood's "World War Robot" paintings.

Sky-Pirates of The Harrowmark: The Selachii - part 1

The Selachii are skyship pirates from The Harrowmark in Shyish, the Realm of Death. They are Freeguilders with wild hairstyles, fur-collared clothes and lots of skulls and other macabre trophies hung from their gear.

This warband is also intended as a small group of NPCs for The Harrowmark (alongside the Graveroot Wargrove and the Court of Spades). They may end up as a unit in the Ironfang Fleet, or occasionally oppose them.

Bodrin Bok, the leader of the Selachii

Anthor, crewman

Darvon, Warrior Priest

Kase, Champion with greatsword

Marcyn, musician

Rohar, crewman

Josian, crewman

The Graveroot Wargrove, Part 1

Anethum, Branchwych of The Graveroot Wargrove, Sylvaneth from The Harrowmark in the Realm of Death.

Most of the Harrowmark is virtually impenetrable forest: Seemingly endless miles of dark, tangled, twisted and unnatural forest. It is a corrupted land: the dead trees are warped by dark-magic, skull-formed rock formations and other symbols and motifs of death are everywhere. Things live in these forests: malignant, spiteful things. It is a brave soul that ventures under the dark bowers, brave or foolish, as few who attempt to navigate the winding pathways ever emerge again. The forests are shaped by the death magic that permeates them and the forest spirits that dwell within are equally affected.

This warband is intended as a small group of NPCs for The Harrowmark: a maximum of 100 Renown for AoS Skirmish. I plan on getting up to three boxes of models and a Hero. This Branchwych, Kurnoth Hunters, Spite-Revenants and Dryads.

This idea owes a huge debt to Vikingpainting

The storm had passed but the air was still heavy with magic: their was the stench of death on everything and the trees seemed to have a aura of amethyst light if you didn't look directly at them.

Kaptain Ogbad and the Ogresuns ventured out of the walled garden and into Wortbad. Near the centre of the village stood their goal: a Baleful Realmgate with ghostly energies roiling in it's arch, know locally as the Spiritgate. Even a hazardous journey through the Realmgate was preferable to travelling on foot through the voodoo forests!

As the orruk pirates advanced through the empty streets they spotted a Spirit Host beyond the gate, then another in the Deathwatch Tower. The soon realised the Ordeshal Host were back to torment them again!

The Ogresuns raced forward, hoping to cut off the Malignants from the Realmgate, Mr Whalebelly led the charge.

Kaptain Ogbad and his group passed the pumpkin field and headed for the gate.

Bad Hook, Dunloon Dreg and Fetch rounded the other side of the Rose & Scythe Inn.

A Spirit Host drifted from Deathwatch Tower, but Ogbad made short work of it with his cutlasses.

Deadwalkers crawled out from the Chapel graveyard and joined the riders of Ordeshal in their attack on the orruks, cutting down Bad Hook and Fetch!

More Deadwalkers emerged and grasped at Mr Whalebelly.

Dubloon Dreg was dragged down too.

The Whyte Lady used her fell powers to wear down Mr Whalebelly from afar.

Lyrd Radclyffe and the Riders of Ordeshal charged at the pirates but more and more Deadwalkers pulled themselves out of the ruined houses and crowded round both the orruks and the Whyte Lady's followers. The growing swarms of undead force both warbands further and further apart.
